The Sun Inn

The Lake District

There is an endless amount of things for you to do within close proximity of the Sun Hotel. Whether you like walking, fishing, cycling or just a day out with the family. We are located in between Windermere and Ambleside and both can be accessed by just a short drive. Walk down to Bowness-on-Windermere, take yourself on one of the many Lake Cruises to Ambleside or Lakeside. You could also take the Windermere ferry across the Lake and visit Esthwaite Water, Hawkshead or the vast Grizedale Forest.

If you’re looking for a family day out you can go to the Beatrix Potter Museum or visit the house of Beatrix Potter herself. Located only 5 minutes down the road we also have Brockholes, a national park visitors centre with a large adventure playground and acres of garden to explore.
